Gastronomy
The menu is dominated by traditional Polish cuisine with sour soup, red borscht, pierogi and pork loin with cabbage, but you can also try other dishes - of Mediterranean, Asian or Jewish cuisine.
"Karczma pod Strzechą" is famous for its pierogi in a wide range: from these typical ones with meat, cabbage and mushrooms, to pierogi with lentils, spinach or poppy and cherries. Her, Mazovian speciality – white horseradish borsch is served. In "Art Deco" we will also eat Polish style dishes, e.g. Duck in orange-honey sauce or knuckle of pork. In the next-door "Akapit" duck with apples and the salmon fillet are the chef's speciality. The lovers of the Jewish cuisine must visit "Estera". Here, in the menu we can find, among others, kreplah, potato kugel and mefarka. Beer enthusiasts are welcome to "Browar Tumski", where freshly brewed, unpasteurized and nonfiltred beer is served. It is brewed in historical 350 years old cellars. "Samurai Sushi" is famous with its Japanese cuisine, "Arturo" offers Italian one, "La petite" specializes in pancakes. At the time of large music events, which take place in the summer in Płock the restaurant is open 24 h/day. "Restaurants in the "Tumski" and "Starzyński" hotels tempt us not only with their tasty cuisine but also unrivalled views on the Vistula River at the bottom of the Tumskie Hill. From there we can admire the most beautiful sunsets, perfect for those in love. Charming view also extends from the Plock pier, the only such construction on the river in Poland. The pier is a ended with the glass-topped coffee shop, built on a circular plan, open in the season and offering inter alia, homemade ice creams
In the newly renovated Wieża Ciśnień (Water Tower), the new restaurant was founded. Steaks with hamburgers and more than 200 types of whisky is their specialty. It's worthy to peek into "Książęca" Restaurant located in the Hotel "Herman" at Sienkiewicza Street, which offers dishes prepared in in a modern method of sous-vide. In 2012 the restaurant has been awarded with the "Best hotel Restaurant in mazowieckie region" prize.
In the evening clubs and pubs, the majority of which is located at Grodzka Street and Narutowicza Square, come alive. In "Rock'69" pub or "Estera" restaurant you can listen to live music. During great music events such as Audioriver, Summer Fall Festival or Polish Hip Hop Festival you can also listen to live music in the unique scenery at the beach near Vistula River.
