Partner towns
Płock has fourteen partner cities. According to the order in which contracts were concluded these are: Darmstadt in Germany, Fort Wayne in the USA, Forli in Italy, Mazeikiai in Lithuania, Novopolotsk in Belarus, Auxerre in France, Beltsy in Moldova, Loznica in Serbia, Thurrock commune in the UK, Mytishchi in Russia, Huai'an in China, Pleven in Bulgaria, Zhytomyr in Ukraine and Rustavi in Georgia.
The annual holiday of all partner cities of Płock is European Picnic, which has been organized in May since 1999. The event is an opportunity to get to know cultural heritage of our partners and it includes exhibitions, fairs, competitions and performances of music bands.
For its international activities, openness to the world and organizing events propagating idea of integration, Płock has been rewarded three times by the Council of Europe. In 2004 we received the European Diploma, in 2005 the Honorary Flag, and in 2009 the Plaque of Honor.
