ROUTE NO. 1a RED Boleslaus the Wry-Mouthed

Starting the walk along this route from in front of the historical building of Odwach - the seat of PTTK (Polish Tourism Association), we further go around Narutowicza Square, next to the Płock Scientific Society's facility, the Tumskie Hill, we pass the nature monument - an English oak with the circumference of 301 cm and the height of 20 m. On the left side there is the amphitheatre, on the left the oldest High School in Poland the so-called "Małachowianka". Going further, we pass next to a parish church of St. Bartholomew from the 14th century, it was rebuilt in the 18th century in the Baroque style/and a complex of granaries from the 18th - 19th century with collections of folk art. The Old Catholic Mariavites Church and Monastery in the Neo-Gothic style closes the historical part of Płock on this route. Further along Szpitalna Street, among gardens and arable fields, we go in the south-western direction, passing the village of Maszewo in the distance. We walk into the lagging of the Brudzeński Landscape Park with an interesting forest stand in the form of oaks, limes and pines - impressive nature monuments. Through mixed forest stand we continue westward to the village of Biskupice. At the distance of 5 km there is one of the oldest towns of Płock Mazovia - Rokicie /beyond the route/. There is a Romanesque - Gothic church, dating back to the 13th century, rebuilt many times and a Classicistic manor from the 19th century. We follow in the south-eastern direction, slightly straying from the Skrwa River and we reach the village of Radotki,  At the distance of 2.5 km there is the town of Siecień and in it a historical Late Renaissance parish church, from the 17th century with a valuable image of Heavenly Mother of Siecień from the 15th century. Place of religious worship. Continuing our walk we go over Skrwa to the village of Kobierniki. Then we take the road towards the south and we walk in the lagging of the Park and approach Sikórz. Within the distance of 1 km is "Sikórz" reserve characterized by rich, unique vegetation, many species of trees and shrubs including impressive nature monuments - four impressive English oaks. The Skrwa Prawa River  adds charm to this landscape. In Sikórz the church from the 20th century with beautiful wall paintings on the interior and the main altar of white marblestone. The Classicistic manor from the 19th century along with the park. Sikórz is regarded as the capital of "Szwajcaria Mazowiecka (Masovian Switzerland)" owing to a beautiful valley of Skrwa Prawa and charming outdoor sites. We walk to the northern part of the "Sikórz" reserve towards Brudzeń Duży Lake. Following the forest trail through a pine copse we enter an open space and approach the first buildings of the village of Parzeń. Further, down a rural road we descend to the bank of Skrwa, cross an asphalt road and move westward along the edge of the forest. A beautiful deciduous forest stand is now before us with predominance of hornbeam, birch and maple trees. Going along the path we reach an early Renaissance fortified settlement dating back to 8th - 11th century. Then, we pass the nature monument (two impressive beeches) and we reach the Brudzeń Duży Lake. There, we see a Classicistic manor house from the turn of the 19th and the 20th century with a historical park. We leave Brudzeń and go down a wide dirt road towards Cieślino.  We pass the village of Bądkowo Kościelne, and in it a parish church from the 18th century in a late-Baroque style with a decorative portal with three coats of arms. Then, down a path we again reach the valley of the Skrwa  River and through the open area we move to the Bądkowo - Rochy hamlet. Then, we walk among arable fields for a longer time, further through a forest stand of pine and birch, the slope over the river and we approach the end of our journey. Before us lies now the village of Cieślin with a historical manor park with magnificent limes, ashes and spruces. From Cieślino, the route leads through Obręb and Żurawin.  In Żurawin there is a beautiful small church, in the Neo-Gothic style, in the main altar there is a picture of Heavenly Mother of Żurawin. Further, through Bledzewo and Miłobędzyn the route leads to Sierpiec and ends at the PKP railway station. In Sierpiec tourists should pay attention to the Regional Museum with collections of folk art that is based in the Town Hall. Additionally, in Sierpiec there are two interesting churches - Late Gothic Benedictine church and daughter church from the 16th century, rebuilt in later centuries and a "Kasztelanka" manor house from the end of the 18th century. In the nearby Bojanów there is a Mazovian Village Museum, in which rural corrals along with farmyards are displayed.
 
The route, on some sections, is suitable for tourism cycling.
